Atlanta Bucket List

I have always loved traveling and getting to experience new places. Sometimes I forget though that there can be so much to see in my own neck of the woods. We just moved to Georgia in March, so there is still a lot I have left to discover. I’ll add more as I hear about things to do. Here are some I have heard about and want to do:

  • Attend an outdoor concert in Piedmont Park
  • Go see the pandas at Zoo Atlanta
  • Take a Tour of CNN Studio
  • Throw a perfect spiral (in my dreams!) at the College Football Hall of Fame
  • Drink some delicious Coke at the World of Coca-Cola

  • Enjoy a perfect autumn day in Blue Ridge, Georgia

  • Bike or Segway the Atlanta Beltline
  • Picnic in Piedmont Park
  • Play mini golf at Skyline Park on top of Ponce City Market
  • Get lost (not literally, just poetically, please) in Chattahoochee National Forest
  • Kayak down the Chattahoochee River

Of course, I couldn’t forget about our two Puggle babies. If you have a dog, here are some cool events you should definitely check out as well as some great parks and places around town that are dog-friendly:

  • Go to a Braves Game with your pooch. Bark at the Park is usually in September. This year’s game is on Sunday, September 18, 2017.
  • Get ready for Halloween at Brook Run Park’s HowlOWeenie held annually in October.
  • Say good-bye to summer with a splash at Piedmont Park’s Splish Splash Doggie Bash in October.
  • Attend Atlanta Pet Expo in November.
  • Dress up your puppy and take part in the Reindog Parade held every December at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens
  • If you were too busy to dress up your dog during the busy holiday season, then no fear, take your dog to the Pet Costume Parade at the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival in March.
  • Enjoy a nice Atlanta spring day at Woofstock held yearly in May.
  • Get in shape (both me and my dogs) and take part in the Dunwoody’s Brook Run Park Dog Jog (1 mile) in May each year.
